Hi there, welcome to my site.
Here you can find news about my musical projects, audio examples, video, and things that interest me. Enjoy, and please let me know what you think of it; I enjoy hearing from you.

- The first of a series of 12 concerts with my band and the Peter Beets trio was a great succes. We were joined by the young singer Ruben Hein, in a wonderful outdoor concert in Enschede.

- I'm proud that my new CD "Blown Away" is out on the jazzimpuls label (Challenge records). With a great line up including Peter Beets on piano, Ferdinand Povel on tenor, Jos Machtel on bass and Joost van Schaik on drums. The music is all dedications, like Cedar Walton's "The Maestro", for Duke Ellington, or Blue Mitchell's "Blue Silver". Barry Harris, to whom I also dedicated a tune wrote a wonderful line for the liner notes! We did a presentation party in the Bimhuis on the 16 of september.

"A young man, who showed tremendous promise when I first met him; has
matured, and what a beautiful promise fulfilled." (Barry Harris)

“Niels Tausk plays with a maturity that belies his years” (Georgie Fame)

- In February 2007 I did a tour with the legendary alto saxophonist Bud Shank, Toon Roos and the Rein de Graaf trio. We played at the Bimhuis, Vredenburg and the Oosterpoort among others. In Utrecht we were joined by the wonderful Herb Geller, a wonderfull experience. I also played a concert with the great pianist Hod 'o Brien.
- I november I will be playing with Rein de Graaf again, this time with Frank Morgan.
- For the coming theatre season we are working on a tribute to Ella and Louis with the great Mirjam van Dam, Joost Kesselaar and Berend van den Berg. We've just finished recording a video clip in which Mirjam and I sing "Cheek to cheek" as a duet.

- Next year the Sybren de Jong quintet will record a CD for Bluejack records. With Marco Kegel on alto and flute, (which he is doing beautifully these days). We will do a very nice selection of bob classics, like Rocker and Quasimodo, some originals and a great arrangement of Moondreams, with flugelhorn and flute.
